Successful candidates will probably have over 8 years experience in HAZID / HAZOP Studies, Consequence Analysis / QRA for Oil & Gas Operations using well known software like PHAST/SAFETI, Fire Protection and Fire & Gas Detection Systems, Emergency Response Plans etc. You will have a degree in process, chemical, mechanical engineering or similar. Due to recent project wins and their continued expansion, our client has opportunities for a number of experienced, high quality professionals to join them at various levels in their Abu Dhabi & Dubai offices.

Successful candidates will probably have over 8 years experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), including knowledge of several of the following: marine & terrestrial ecology, air quality, noise, water (surface and groundwater) quality, geology and contaminated land, and socio-economics. Experience of preparing Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) will be advantageous. You will have a strong track record in managing and carrying out EIA Studies for Oil & Gas Operations, Power Plants, Manufacturing, and/or Infrastructure / Development Projects. You will have a degree in a relevant science or engineering field, and a higher degree is desirable.

Environmental Engineering Consultant/ Specialist   Saudi Arabia

 
 

 

Our client is looking for an experienced and adaptable environmental engineering/consultant to drive forward this area of business and who should possess the following:
· A good engineering (preferably chemical or civil) or science degree with an additional qualification in environmental engineering;
· At least ten years experience in environmental engineering, some of which should come from an engineering consultancy background;
· Knowledge and experience of air and water pollution control, emission testing, waste minimization, environmental auditing, and environmental impact assessment;
· The candidate must be highly numerate and commercially astute with an excellent command of written and spoken English and highly developed presentational skills;
· The ability to manage multiple complex projects and bids to meet demanding timescales is essential as is the possession of interpersonal skills to manage technical and non-technical teams and develop business relations in a multi-national/multi-cultural work environment;
· Previous experience in the Middle East is advantageous but not essential.

The role involves significant project responsibility with the jobholder leading projects with considerable impact, proactively managing change requests and identifying risks. Ideally you should hold a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and have demonstrable environmental management experience. This role will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to lead a team of 5-6 professionals in delivering Environmental Planning (e.g. Environmental & Social Impact Assessment) and Sustainability (e.g. Sustainability Assessment) projects. You will be required to display commercial awareness in team management, bid submission and project delivery phases of the project life-cycle to ensure the profitability of projects. You will need to have the ability to successfully manage the team and deliver projects on time and to budget. It is anticipated that you will have a degree and preferably Masters in a Environmental Planning and/or Sustainability together with membership of an appropriate professional body. Candidates should have strong project management and commercial skills, have good all round experience of Environmental & Social Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, Sustainability Assessment, Sustainable masterplanning and International/lending institution requirements e.g. World Bank, IFC, Equator principles etc. An excellent salary and benefits package is offered.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing EIA projects, including the co-ordination of specialist inputs and managing less experienced team members. The candidate will be expected to liaise with clients and produce tenders and proposals. Applicants must have a relevant degree and ideally a MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment together with a strong track record within at least one of the EIA disciplines.
