This is a new position as of 28 May 2012.
Our client has a vacancy for an enthusiastic and experienced EIA Coordinator to join their Environment team on a permanent basis.
The role will include:
Coordinating EIAs for major projects, as well as involvement in urban extensions, eco towns and transport infrastructure. The role will also include elements of environmental reporting and environmental management of construction projects.
Key responsibilities / duties include:
Providing support to the wider Environmental team
Coordination of environmental statements
Liaising with technical specialists and project teams
Managing project budgets
Preparation of individual reports on selected topics
Capabilities and Qualifications
The ideal Candidate will be:
A positive and enthusiastic team player who is either an Associate Member or Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA)
The ideal candidates must have:
Experience of EIA
Knowledge of Environmental Issues
Have project management skills and experience
Be self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative
Be confident to liaise with all levels of management both internally and externally
Work well within a team
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be computer literate in MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Specialist experience in one or two environmental subjects and knowledge of GIS are both desirable but not essential
Degree in Environmental Science or Chartered Environmentalist professional status is also desirable but not essential
Ideally the applicant will be able to demonstrate their experience, competency and flexibility to meet the demands of the role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a highly rated professional EIA team working on a wide variety of high profile projects in the regeneration, waste and energy sectors. The project sectors our client are currently involved in include large scale masterplans, mixed use, leisure, retail and heritage-based redevelopment. Opportunities to be involved in other service sectors will also be available.
We are inviting EIA professionals with previous consultancy experience to apply. Core responsibilities of the position include:
Responsibility for the co-ordination of a variety of EIA projects, including budget control
Preparation and project management of Environmental Statements
Client liaison and development of relationships
Contribution to business development
Contribution to various initiatives, such as development of new services and training
Preparation of fee proposals and assistance with bids
Be able to work autonomously with excellent communication skills (including technical report writing)
A specific technical specialism ideally air quality, flood risk or socio economics
The candidate we seek should ideally have:
A positive and proactive approach
An appropriate degree (membership of IEMA preferred)
A minimum of 3 years experience
A successful track record of EIA co-ordination / project management (including budget control)
Experience in providing technical input into environmental projects or environmental aspects of larger projects
A thorough understanding of EIA, including best practice guidelines, planning processes, environmental assessment methods and case law
Excellent report writing, communication and project management skills
Excellent client liaison skills
The ability to work as part of a team, supervise / support more junior members of staff and deliver integrated services.
A full UK driving licence.
