Candidates should have a proven track record in the delivery of strategic flood risk projects and client management, and be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the following:

· FEH
· MapInfo
· PPS25

Consultant Resource Geologist  Cardiff

 
 

 

The ideal candidate should have a post graduate degree in Mining Geology or related discipline. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of ore geology, mineral resource estimation and the preliminary economic appraisal of mining projects.
Experience in the collection and interpretation of exploration data, geological modelling, statistics and geostatistics, knowledge of International Mineral Resource and Reserve Reporting Codes would be an advantage, as would a high degree of computer literacy and competence in mining/geological software packages such as Datamine, Surpac, Gemcom, Micromine, or Vulcan.
Excellent communication, technical report writing and project management skills, together with a high level of numeracy, are essential.
This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of global projects and commodities, including feasibility studies and due diligence mandates. Frequent overseas travel forms a large part of the role and knowledge of a foreign language would therefore be an advantage.

Requirements of this role include but not limited to:
· Technical expertise in mathematical modeling.
· Working as part of a team you will be involved in a variety of schemes to solve sewer flooding, unsatisfactory overflows and the design of system improvements and enhancements to the Wastewater Networks.
· Undertaking Development Impact Assessments involving model analysis and reporting, plus the development of modeled engineering solutions to mitigate the effects of development.
· Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for modeling, project design and construction.
· Conduct site surveys, field investigation and feasibility studies proposed projects.
· Using appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and successful project outcomes for clients.

Principal Hydrogeologist – Water Resources  High Wycombe

 
 

 

There will be opportunities to carry out a wide range of technical work, including the delivery of capital groundwater projects involving water supply borehole construction for water company, industry and private clients. You should be experienced in borehole condition surveys to assess the integrity of source assets and to investigate water quality issues, borehole rehabilitation and aquifer yield development and enhancement and the resolution of operational issues, and pump duty, well performance and aquifer pumping tests evaluation. Knowledge of groundwater quality investigation and constraint assessment, groundwater flow and quality modelling using MODFLOW and groundwater deployable output assessments and identification of potential constraints would be an advantage. Successful candidates will also have knowledge of managed aquifer recharge, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) and conjunctive use investigations and scheme development, water resource management plan audits for OFWAT and Environment Agency, environmental impact assessments specific to the water industry, including low flow and source sustainability investigations and geotechnical hydrogeology including the design and evaluation of groundwater control and dewatering schemes.
The successful candidate will posses a Masters qualification (or equivalent) in Hydrogeology or other relevant subject and the ability to manage a team and develop and mentor individuals. You will be a member of a relevant body or institution, computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office and have strong oral and written communication skills, along with good client service focus and excellent organisational skills.

Principal Hydrogeologist – Land Quality  High Wycombe

 
 

 

This role involves contribution to our client’s business goals by providing technical expertise and knowledge in the field of hydrogeology. You should possess the ability to develop detailed conceptual understanding of complex hydrogeological situations within land quality.
The successful candidate will be involved in providing site specific advice on the design of contaminated land and groundwater investigations and remediation, design and interpret aquifer tests and all phases of project delivery from proposals, scope development to final reporting. You should be able to carry out hydrogeological modelling using MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, Winflow and Wintran. Experience in providing technical leadership to teams would be an advantage, as would technical excellence in chemical fate and transport in groundwater systems, and performance of controlled waters risk assessment using standard UK models.
The successful candidate will act as a technical resource for members of the land quality team, communicate with and train technical and non-technical colleagues, maintain communication and develop ongoing contacts with clients as required and complete all work in line with MWH Core Values and in accordance with MWH Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
Candidates should have previous experience in groundwater source quality investigation and assessment, phased land quality investigations, contaminated land risk assessment, effluent disposal to ground, groundwater flow and quality modelling. You should also have remediation experience, masters qualification (or equivalent) in Hydrogeology or other relevant subject, the ability to manage a team and develop and mentor individuals and be a member (or working towards membership) of a relevant body or institution.
