This is a new position as of 25 April 2012.

Due to a significant increase in workload in their Birmingham office, our client has a number of contract positions for experienced environmental due diligence consultants.

The work shall consist of Phase I due diligence assessment of a large portfolio of sites, numbering into the hundreds. Our client seeks individuals with a track record of completing such multi-site assessments to the most exacting deadlines.

Each contract is likely to last approximately two months. There may be the possibility of certain contracts becoming permanent positions.

Principal Due Diligence Consultant  London

 
 

 

This is a new position as of 25 April 2012.

Our client seeks an experienced due diligence consultant who is likely to have experience in leading the delivery of a consultancy’s transactions and compliance service to property and industrial clients.

Key technical attributes shall include:

· At least 7 years experience in environmental due diligence. This role will be based in our client’s flagship central London office and involve managing and undertaking property due diligence projects and corporate compliance assessments.

· Strong focus on environmental due diligence associated with commercial property transactions i.e. desk based assessments and Phase 1 reporting and project/team coordination.

· Significant experience of corporate (M&A) transactions i.e. auditing operational issues such as permitting, compliance, best practice and legislative requirements across wide range of sectors (retail, industrial, commercial).

· Strong client management skills with proven success in developing and maintaining client contacts.

· Completion of Formal Second Opinions e.g. concise technical reviews of Phase 1 and 2 environmental reports, regulatory correspondence and identification of key issues.

· Demonstrable technical knowledge of current and future legislation in relation to UK environmental law and best practice – notably contaminated land and key operational environmental regulations.

· Some experience of undertaking, the design and overall project management of contaminated land Phase 2 site investigations.

· Extensive experience of working on multidisciplinary projects from single sites to portfolios.

· Project Management from cradle to grave, demonstrating financial control, team coordination and reporting.

Environmental Consultant  London

 
 

 

This is a new position as of 19 April 2012.

Our client's London office requires a junior consultant with at least 2 years experience of applying liability/contaminated land principles to a range of projects, preferably within an environmental consultancy.
Additionally, you will have, as a minimum, a degree in a relevant subject (BSc) with a Masters Degree in relevant subject preferable.
Experience of writing environmental reports from basic desk studies to Phase 1 level is sought as is experience in site walkovers, assessments of sensitivity (geology, hydrogeology and hydrology), site history (review of historical maps, trade directories), council & regulatory consultations and qualitative risk assessments.

Additionally you will be experienced in working in the field on Phase 2 site investigation comprising capabilities on soil, groundwater and gas monitoring, with associated reporting.
The succesful candidate will be a self-starter, a team player with good inter-personal skills and be of proactive character.
You will have technical knowledge of current and future legislation in relation to UK environmental legislation, policy, guidance and procedures – especially contaminated land and some key operational environmental regulations.

Other pre-requisite abilities include competence in Microsoft Word and Excel, good verbal and written communication skills, both on a technical and commercial level, strong organisational and proven team working skills and demonstrable quality and time management skills.

Some degree of fluency in a european language would be beneficial.

Our client seeks a Senior/Principal Consultant to be based in their central London office. You should have at least seven years experience of applying environmental liability and contaminated land principles to a range of projects, within a consultancy context and possess proven technical appreciation of current and future UK environmental law and best practice.

You will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary projects, from single sites to portfolios, including, property (asset) due diligence assessments and corporate (M&A) due diligence/compliance audits.
You should have experience of project management (including financial control, team management and reporting), be commercially aware, with demonstrable business development, and client management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills essential, with previous line management experience, including training, mentoring and reviewing technical reports are important.
You will have an earth sciences degree (BSc) and ideally have a Masters Degree (MSC) in a relevant subject.

The post will be based in Gloucestershire, within our client's Group Environment team. The team consists of specialists who lead on the development of environment strategy and deliver corporate technical advice. They also provide expert technical support to our client that is not readily available elsewhere in the company such as water quality. The post-holder will have opportunities to work throughout our client's network in England, Wales and Scotland.

The National Environmental Management Advisor will champion and ensure the effective operation of our client's Environmental Management System (EMS), helping them deliver a better environment for our customers whilst complying with statutory requirements and procedures. The post holder will work closely with the Group Environment Policy Manager taking an overview of their EMS and advising on the performance and possible improvements on its form and function of the EMS. The Advisor will be the national expert on environmental management systems, environmental auditing and ISO14001. The Advisor will be expected to be available to advise people throughout their organisation on the function of process and procedure with respect to environmental management.

You will be working within our client's Environmental Operations division which provides support to their business on environmental issues through a series of locally based multi-disciplinary teams.

You will provide professional advice relating to environmental issues (water quality, pollution control, waste management, contamination, environmental appraisal) in the North Wales and Borders geographical area. In addition you will ensure day to day works and corporate objectives are dealt with effectively, taking proactive steps to keep the business informed of our client's obligations.

Through study and review of the waterway network, you will promote and report on the conservation of heritage structures and the environment, advise on legislative compliance and the correct application of our client's environmental policy, heritage policy and defined standards.

Due to recent project wins and their continued expansion, our client has opportunities for a number of experienced, high quality professionals to join them at various levels in their Abu Dhabi & Dubai offices.

Successful candidates will probably have over 8 years experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), including knowledge of several of the following: marine & terrestrial ecology, air quality, noise, water (surface and groundwater) quality, geology and contaminated land, and socio-economics. Experience of preparing Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) will be advantageous. You will have a strong track record in managing and carrying out EIA Studies for Oil & Gas Operations, Power Plants, Manufacturing, and/or Infrastructure / Development Projects.
